After months of remote learning and then summer break, Italian students, teachers and families have high expectations about the reopening of schools. The return to school raises doubts and questions amid the challenges of the current health emergency.

To help families and students, the Ministry of Education has developed and launched a “Back to School” website.  It serves as a portal for information, documents and answers about the reopening of schools in September 2020/2021.
The page is constantly updated and users can download and monitor real time data and statistics about personal protective equipment, such as surgical masks and hand sanitizer that are being distributed to Italian schools. The website provides also the Technical Scientific Committee’s health guidelines along with the health protocols implemented in schools of all kinds and levels. The Q&A section addresses topics relating to the back-to-school plan, the management of suspected cases and outbreaks and the use of the Italian Immuni app. The portal features also a section dedicated to the Regional School Offices providing information and guidelines at regional level.
